Aaah, the figure. It has been painted, drawn, photographed, sculpted, dissected, measured, diagrammed, and yet we continue to approach it with the adventure seeker’s lust to discover its secrets. The human desire to know the who/what/where/why of our existence fires the force to venture on with our representations of this big mystery. Every artist strives to show a new fragment of what we might be, to the world. It is why we breathe. More than anything, It shows the world how the artist perceives herself in the mix of life; the filter of the self creates another facet of perception in art to who we are as Earth’s humans. It is the insurmountable project of the human body that endows us with an endless flow of answers to a question that can never be answered.
